Hi Luis, we're so excited to have you here! Why don't you introduce yourself a little?

Where are you from?

I'm originally from El Salvador, but moved to Richmond in 2006!

Before coming to Lendtable, what were you doing?

I was working with youth at a nonprofit in areas such as career development, running photography classes and exploring post-secondary opportunities.

What made you choose to come to Lendtable?

Some time ago, I started thinking about retirement and realized that I had no clue as to what I was supposed to do. That's when I realized I had been missing out on my retirement match and had $0 there. From then on, I took it upon myself to learn about retirement and started contributing to my retirement account little by little. As soon as I saw the work that Lendtable and the team were doing, I was blown away! From that moment, I knew that I wanted to be part of this.

Why is Lendtable's mission important to you?

Growing up, I didn't learn about financial literacy or retirement. It always seemed inaccessible and so far away from my reach. The work that we're doing here is so impactful and transformative, it allows people to save money for their future in an easy and accessible way. Building this wealth is so important because it offers the opportunity to create a foundation, one in which people are able to retire and enjoy their lives.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I love photography! I spend a lot of time outdoors either taking pictures or riding my bike. I'm a huge Star Wars fan! Currently trying to catch up with all of the shows!

What do you consider your greatest financial accomplishment?

Buying my mom her dream home! I worked really hard to make this dream come true and is my biggest accomplishment so far!

Create a budget, create a budget!! Watch out for credit card debt and APRs!
